Tribulus Terrestris is another super popular ingredient in male potency formulas and takes 2nd place in the overhyped category.  This substance comes from a small leafy plant grown in parts of Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East.  Both the root and fruit of the plant have been used medicinally in Traditional Chinese Medicine and Indian Ayurveda medicine to boost libido and keep the urinary tract healthy.  Does it work?

Researchers found that when men with reduced sex drives consumed 750 to 1,500 mg of Tribulus Terrestris daily for two months, their sexual desire increased by 79%.  Women had a similar positive boost in libido with 67% of test subjects feeling increased sexual desire after they took supplements of 500 to 1,500 mg for 90 days.

Other studies have also reported that supplements containing the herb enhanced sexual desire, arousal, and satisfaction in women with low libido.

While this is good news (if you suffer from low libido or sexual desire), unfortunately, studies have found it does not reverse ED or increase testosterone to lift your soldier back to life.

For example, a large-scale review analyzed the results from 12 different major studies on the plant’s effects in men and women aged 14–60 lasting from 2–90 days.  This review included healthy people and those experiencing sexual problems but did not find an increase in testosterone.[i]

How about cortisol?

With the exception of a successful study done on rats, which proved “antidepressive effects,” unfortunately there are no human studies yet to my knowledge that show a reduction in cortisol.[ii]

While these studies show minimal improvement for sexual problems, studies do prove that Tribulus can significantly increase total sperm motility and the number of motile spermatozoa.[iii]

Similar to Ginko Biloba and Horny Goat Weed, Tribulus scores a paltry 26 out of 50 on the Rockstar Rating System. For these reasons, I do not recommend wasting your time or money on Tribulus for erectile dysfunction. Instead, check out the Man Up Formula for the only combination of herbs to score over 90% HERE
