I booked a flight to Bali recently but it turned out the country closed its doors due to COVID so the flight was canceled. When I googled “justfly customer service number” google prominently showed this number: 855-312-8805. I pressed the number to make an automatic call and got a call center in India pretending to be Justfly. Of course I didn’t know this until after the rep said I could qualify for a one time upgrade from a non-refundable ticket to a refundable ticket for $600. This guy was really good and sounded legit until he said I needed to go get a justfly or nike gift card from Vons or Ralphs and load $600 while he waited on the phone. When I told him I couldn’t do it today he got pushy and I knew for sure it was a scam so I hung up.
The lesson and takeaway here is really to trust your intuition. While on the phone I did a quick google search for justfly gift cards which had no results. Then I got an uneasy feeling in my gut when this guy started pushing me to get in my car and go get a gift card. Trust your gut and never give your money away to anyone without investigating if it’s legit.
