It’s important to understand that in order to achieve this synergy of superhuman power and stack the deck in your favor you’ll first need to be aware of the pitfalls and traps that lure you away from your goals and prevent you from triumphantly crossing the victory line.
“The will to win, the desire to succeed, the urge to reach your full potential… these are the keys that will unlock the door to personal excellence.”
Confucius
While there is a multitude of circumstances and excuses that could potentially end or delay your quest for personal excellence, none is greater than a lack of desire. Best books about exercise oftentimes discuss this. For this reason, we’ll be taking a few extra steps to ensure you reach your ultimate goals.
In regards to those goals and in the interest of keeping you motivated towards achieving them, I’d like you to take a moment right now and imagine you are setting out on a long journey to find your own island full of buried treasure.
When first embarking on this journey you’ll need to define two things on the map as follows:
- Where you are now and…
- Where you want to go
Without these two pieces of information, you could get lost in the Bermuda Triangle of misguided information or waste a lot of time drifting in a sea with no wind, or perhaps even get attacked by a pack of pirates looking to cash in on your discovery.
Similarly, as you head out to get “Fired Up” you’ll need to identify where you are now and where you want to go. By identifying these two points you’ll see a clear path to victory, set yourself up for success, and stack the deck in your favor.
The first part of this equation – where you are now – is critical as it allows you to identify the obstacles that could make your journey take twice as long or perhaps prevent you from getting there at all. So here is your first question:
Where am I at in my journey toward optimal health and fitness?
If for instance, you have a lot of inflammation in your body and jump into the recommended exercises, you could actually go backward simply because of the fact that strength training and HIIT add more inflammation. Yes, inflammation serves a good purpose in the tearing down and rebuilding of muscle but inflammation on top of inflammation equals couch crush (AKA your ass stuck on the couch).
We are all unique, with different levels of health and fitness. So as we embark on this journey of building superhuman power you’ll need to be really self-honest about where you’re at right now in order to get where you want to be in the future.
This brings us to those traps, which either force you to give up shortly after starting or waste valuable time, money, and energy. So first, I’m going list several traps in the next blog articles I’ll be posting. Notice if you’ve fallen prey to any of them in the past and how this new awareness can lift the fog of delusion and open up a new path to obtaining superhuman powers.
